  1. thats stupid! dont get a deaf 1 kids in skool will make fun of him and he wont ever hear it!!! lol

  2. Contact social services, they are always anxious to find homes for children with special needs.  Because of your sign language ability, they should understand your reasons for wanting a son or daughter who is deaf, as opposed to some other disability.  You will need to have a homestudy done before you can bring this child into your home, but the social workers can help you with that.  I wish you and your family the best!

  3. Go to:

    http://www.adoptuskids.org/Child/ChildSe...

    and search the database.

I also found this by "x-raying" adoptuskids.

    http://www.google.com/search?num=100&hl=...

  4. How wonderful that you specifically want a special needs child.  I know they are harder to find placements for, so the fact that you want a deaf child is great!  I don't have any advice on where to locate a child, but I did want to say how nice I thought this was.  Good luck and God bless!

  5. Wonderful!!  Go to deafadoption.org

Great resource for all aspects of adoption of a deaf child along with specific details on children known by the agency to be available for adoption in the system or with private agencies.

    Good luck to you!!!

  6. I am not sure but I think that this is truly wonderful.  For future reference, and please do not take offense to this, but when referring to someone who is Deaf, you must capitalize the D.  These people have a culture and it is considered very respectful.  Just something to keep in mind as he/she is growing up!  Good luck!

  7. Contact an adoption attorney.  Depending upon how old you want the child to be, it may not take long at all to locate a deaf child.  Many people don't feel that they are equipped to handle a deaf child.  You are well equipped, and willing.
