Does anyone know of a reasonably priced digital cam with a fast burst rate?

I have a cam now that has about a 4 sec delay between when you push the button and when the pic actually takes..i like taking pics of thunderstorms so this poses a problem..also i need a cam that doesn't take a degree to use and is like $1,000!!my budget is around $500 max,thanks

  1. If you have a supported camera, or can find one cheap, you could try the CHDK firmware add-on for Canon digital cameras. On some supported cameras it can even be set up to automatically trigger when lightning strikes. :)

  3. If you think you will be able to capture pictures of lighting by reacting to the lightning flash, it won't work.

    You do not necessarily need really fast shutter lag (or no shutter lag at all)... What you need is a camera that allows you to control the shutter by keeping it open for a while...
