I am adopted and I am currently registered with the International Soundex Reunion Registry, they are very indept and free.

There are many very reputable adoption registries online.  Unfortunately any child or birth family search for someone adopted since 1989 will not be permitted to register because of age requirements.  Most states recognize adulthood is the age of 18 so this is what most registries use as well.
