Does anyone know of a reputable cartridge/toner recycling fundraiser?

I'm interested in fundraising for my school robotics club. Preferably, does anyone know firsthand about a company, organization, or site that is reputable and help us fundraise?

Also, please tell me which other category I may have better success with this question, since I'm not sure it belongs in this one.

  1. Hello,

The best way to get the most bang for your buck is NOT to recycle with a middleman or broker. You need to go to a real remanufacturer/refurbisher. This probably means you need three different companies to recycle 1) inkjets 2) cell phones 3) toners. I don't know any company that actually remanufactures more than one type of e-waste. If they say they "recycle toners AND inkjets AND cell phones" they might remanufacture none or one of those, and then re-sell the rest to real remanufacturers. So you should just go straight to the remanufacturers. You'll just have three different collection boxes (which the companies should provide to you for free - plus free shipping).

Ask the company if they actually remanufacture and re-sell the items and you'll know that you're getting the best prices. Also, make sure they give you price lists ahead of time. *Be careful however. Sometimes they inflate their prices (and then say your cartridges are defective) or don't pay for a lot of items.

The best company for inkjets out there is Planet Green. I know it firsthand because I work there! (www.planetgreenrecycle.com)

Planet Green accepts all inkjets and has the best prices and fastest turn-around (meaning, you get your check fast).

A good cell phone refurbisher is RMS Cellular. I've had good experiences with them too.

    I hope that helps!
