  1. Climbing "Blaze" is one of the best climbing roses.  It's color is not as dark as you are talking about but you will not be sorry you planted it.

  2. The climbing/ shrub rose " Dortmund" is for me the most trouble free rose. Does not need a lot of care, grows in average soil, no fungus. It grows at the south side of the house.

To plant a climbing rose against a wall dig a hole 15 inch away from the footing. The roots have to slope away from the wall. Use some bone meal, Alfalfa pellets and a good planting mix.

The growing stems of a climber have to be tied to a support after planting.

  3. We have one planted in memory of our son Paul, hence its called Paul's Climber. If you Google Paul's Climber it will give you an idea what it looks like

  4. My favorite climbing rose of all times is th "Don Juan"

climbing rose. it has a deep velvet texture lots of deep red flowers and 40 or so flowers on every mature plant

look it up on goggle. and find the pictures of the deep reds. you will love them. Be sure to check the planting procedure and don't plant them in a place where water can drown the roots in a hole.
