Does anyone know of a summer reading program for entering 1st graders in Chicago, IL?

I need to find a summer reading program for my 6yr old son ASAP! I feel he really needs to brush up on his reading skills for the summer before he forgets everything he learned in Kindergarten. He is awesome in math, but is a little behind in reading. He is a great kid, but becomes frustrated when it's time to read. I feel really bad! I love reading and would like him to feel as if reading is fun... not a chore! If anyone knows of a program in Chicago, IL or NW suburbs...please let me know! Thanks!

Check your public libraries.

Check with your library and see if they have a reading program.  I know I put both of mine in ours and they are having a good time reading and getting prizes for doing it.

most public libraries offer summer reading programs.  

just google "summer reading program in chicago"

are you reading with him or letting him read on his own? it would be a good idea for you to share your pleasure in reading with him.
