  1. First and foremost, you should get a second opinion, at least to make sure that it actually IS a hormone imbalance and not something else.... your hormones are something you don't want to mess with if you don't have to.

With that being said, the most popular natural products for hormone support would be Dong Quai, Black Cohosh, Vitex (also called Chasteberry), Wild Yam, Damiana Leaf, Motherwort, GLA (Gamma Linolenic Acid, commonly in Borage Oil and Evening Primrose Oil), and some Soy germ products.

    Good luck!

  2. My homeopath has me on some remedies and we are working on my hormones... but I find that rosehips and vitamen C, Calcium and Vitamen D are essential in hormonal balance.  I was deficient in mine and since I started taking the all natural supplements of them, my periods have become much more regular.  I am on a 45 day schedule... so I get my period every 45 days vs 28 or 35.  Every woman is different....  so yes, 13 wks is too long but you may also not be every 28 days like some women.  Try those supplements, in all natural form and see how that works...  reduce stress and drink lots of water.  Let me know how it works out....  supersongbird30@yahoo.com

  3. I don't know if this would help you or not, but I take calcium supplements to help with my PMS symptoms. It makes a huge difference in helping me not have mood swings, cramps, etc. I don't know if it would help you be more regular but you could try it, calcium's good for you even if it doesn't work.

  4. Vitex and Wild Yam

  5. I personally would go for a second opinion with the a different doctor!

Be open with the doctor about your financial situation, they should be able to assist you in some manner and find you a workable method.  If medicine is required there are MANY programs available to assist with cost.  A good doctor's office can help you get placed within one of these options as well.

Get in to see a doctor that will work with you.  Check out a local planed parent hood or clinic.  There are many woman's clinics available across the country.

    Best wishes.

  6. Vitex is an excellent herb for balancing hormones. Additionally, in Chinese medicine, Liver Qi Stagnation is often a culprit in  and can be addressed with herbs such as yellow dock. Also, even if you are not anemic, you could be suffering from 'Blood Deficiency'. The yellow dock has a good amount of iron and will help with blood deficiency also.

  7. Maca is used to balance hormones. It works with the endocrine system so whatever hormones that you are lacking or makes too much of maca will help the problem.

It is from south america and is a tuber root.

www.macaweb.com is where i get mine from.

I also recommend talking to these folks from www.radiantwonder.com chinese herbalism.
