Does anyone know of a website that will have articels/letters on the subject of special needs children?

I would like to find a powerful/emotional articel written by/about someone handicapped in order to give a lesson on the subject!

  3. Hi, i'm at college in the UK and we just started doing a unit on SEN (Special Educational Needs) it isn't exactly on children but it is good. Its an article written by a disabled man about how society gives disabled people aids to help with daily living but rather than trying to include them in society and allowing them to adapt to it. the article writes about an island of wheelchair users which have able-bodied come to live with them, the able bodied have to adapt to live in their society but instead they are given aids to help them with their daily living.

  6. You did not mention what state that you live in nor if you are a teacher or parent. In my state, California you can access several websites some or for parents, some for teacher's and some provide information for all interested persons seeking questions and support.  here are the sites to check:  the education department for the state you need. This is Ca. site, www.cde.ca.gov. , The office of Special Education Programs-OSEP. www.ed.gov. this site will provide several sites to assist you. If you are a teacher visit nea.org look under sped. www.teachingld.org  this site provides a list of agencies and organizations for disabilities. I hope these sites will help you find your needed information.
