Does anyone know of any WWII US cemetaries in Cologne,Germany?.?

I am going there on a mission trip, and I just found out my great-grandfather was killed there.

  1. I don't know of any cemetaries there. But there probably is, just not around the Kolon Cathedral or anything.


  2. There are no cemeteries for US soldiers near Cologne.

    The American Government did not believe in burying their soldiers in enemy territory (Germany). The majority of those who lost their lives in the battle of Hürtgenwald (near Cologne) were returned to the US, others were buried in American Military cemeteries in Margraten/Netherlands, Henri-Chapelle & Neuville-en-Condroz/Belgium and Hamm/Luxemburg.
