  1. You can do a lot here:) Heres' what I've done: going to the beach, hiking in the mountains, horse riding, visiting caves - lit and unlit (with a guide and a rope); spa in hotels with natural mineral water; visiting history places (including Thracian tombs in the woods), such asThracian Perperikon, the Womb Cave, Kaliakra, old capitals - Veliko Turnovo, Pliska, Preslav, Plovdiv, traditional architecture villages such as Zheravna, Tryavna, Koprivshtitsa, Shiroka Laka; nature reserves - Arkutino, etc.

I've lived here all my life and there are still attractions I've not seen yet - the Rusenski Lom nature reserve and the Ivanovo Rock churches.

    Look up places here:

  2. It depends on which part of the country you want to visit. It's not so small, I am Bulgarian , I should know.  In this part of the year most of the people prefer the Black Sea coast which I also recommend. I live in Varna (The biggest city on the coastline) Right next to it there's Golden Sands and Sunny Day resorts. They're both very nice and cheap.

Oh, there's also 2 magical places by the sea you should visit - Balchik and Nesebar (Nessebur). In Balchik there is a vast gorgeous botanic garden and a lot of old architecture and also some beaches. It's very beautiful. Nesebar is a village on a very small peninsula. It's a fantastic place - with things to see, places to stay and eat.

In Varna you just HAVE to go to the archaeological museum. There's  our 7000 years old tracian treasures and other items from roman times. I think that will be a perfect activity for the grownups.  There's also nice discos you can go to.

well if you prefer mountains and skiing I would recommend Bansko. It's a small city in Pirin Mountain. There's also much old architecture and beautiful untouched nature.

Other nice places in the mountains - Borovets, Chepelare, Our biggest monastery - 'Rilski monastery'....

Veliko Tarnovo is also a very beautiful city with history all over it.

You asked if there's anything you should keep away from. Well i think you should check out the prices first because some sailesmen and especially taxi drivers could take more money from you.  There are also gypsies you should keep away from. I think you know why (They may steal your bag or something else)

    I hope i managed to help. ;)
