  1. If you aren't interested in fish, lizards are a possibility.  They live in terrariums and meet your needs.

  2. rabbits. like mini dogs really. you can house train them so they only go in one spot of their cage and let them run around the apartment (as long as all plants and wires are not in their reach) they are very clean animals, every 5 minutes i see my rabbit wash himself. and they can be left alone for hours if the have their food, water and toys. they don't make any noise too, so no one will know you have one! (they do need a lot of attention though, and plenty of exercise, but you can just let them run around the house whenever your home, thats what i do)

  3. Chickens or a duck like of Friends lol Rabbits make excellent house pets, and you can buy them either dwarf or giant :D

  4. Why do you want a pet if you can't give it much attention?

  5. how about a carpet snake!!!!!!!

  6. parakeets.canary's,snakes,gofers,mice,ca... breed dogs.

  7. Small caged pets like hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, rats, gerbils, and chinchillas make good apartment pets. You can get a clear, plastic 2-piece ball that you put the pet into for exercise.

Small birds – budgies, canaries, even some smaller parrots make good apartment pets.

Small dogs – the toy breeds (under25 lbs) make good apartment pets.

A cat (or 2 if you can) makes a great apartment pet.

Reptiles – iguana, lizard, snake, turtle – are great apartment pets.

A red-legged tarantula or a hermit crab is a great pet.

It all hinges on your lifestyle –what you want from a pet and what you are able (and willing) to give a pet. Dogs, for example, need daily walking and attention, while a hermit crab can be happy left alone for a few days if his cage is clean.

EDIT - OOOPS! check with your lease to make sure you can have a pet before you get one.

I rather think they wouldn't balk at a hermit crab.
