If you are looking for a more historical figure in art/literature... try William Blake- One of the major Romantics who was a poet and wrote philisophical type essays as well as illustrated, engraved,  and painted all of his literary works...

The Preraphaelites were always turning poetry, literature and myth into art. Try looking up the following: Hunt, Millais, Rossetti, Collinson, and the sculptor Thomas Woolner. You should with out too much trouble find a lot of their work on line.
