  1. i stayed in a hotel called bercy gare de lyon in the 12th distrcit on rue de charenton. it was really lovely, simple and inexpensive but the service was faultless - the staff were so friendly and welcoming. plus it's right next to dugommier bus station so real handy for getting into the centre. i would highly reccommend it.

  2. I spent a very romantic weekend in Paris and stayed in a cheap hotel in Monmartre.

The weekend was fantastic, but I couldn't tell you what the room or the hotel looked like, but I will remember the girl all my life.

  3. I am not sure what you consider "the pits." I hesitate to answer questions phrased like yours because I often find that people expect something like the Holiday Inn in Omaha (but cheaper) in Paris which is, after all, the single most visited city in the world.

The bottom line is that there are no such places in Paris and you should probably go somewhere else if that is what you demand.

However, there are many charming, very Parisian hotels which are reasonably priced.

The Hotel de Nesle is a good choice. Charming and well located. Its website is here: http://www.hoteldenesleparis.com/

Also recommended is the Hotel St. Jacques. Its website is here: http://www.hotel-saintjacques.com/

  4. hotel DeTurin

  5. Here is an excellent site with some wonderful options for U.

  6. hi

prelude hotel about 5 min walk from gare du nord station just type in prelude hotel in a search engine and it should come up with it. I just came back it was £45 for 2 nights. Beds are so comfy breakfast is good a little noisy at times though.

  8. You could try the Hotel d'Amour at 8, rue de Navarin, Paris 75009. They do not have a website, but if you google it you will find a few photos and comments.

It is situated in a quiet, nice French neighborhood which is within walking distance of Montmartre and the big shops on the bd Haussmann and is near the metro.

    Rates are about 80-90 € a night.

If not, you have the Hotel Eldorado... very funky and quirky!

  9. I you'd like to be more independent and not to spend too much, try that
