  1. If you can afford to go to Italy, I’m sure you can afford a decent meal at a decent price.

  2. Stick to the back streets, and avoid any squares. Drink can be less than a quarter of the price.

  3. i was in venice in the summer and its not too expensive to eat there. I did however find 2 particularly lovely places one was kinda standard price but beautiful service and really fun night, the other was a little backstreet restaurant that whoped a** price wise and food was really good and the staff were great. If i can dig out the visa receipts, lol, i'll mail you with the names, have a great time ;0)

  4. I was in Venice over the summer. The cheapest places i found when i was backpacking were the Chinese places. Their is one hidden in the ally's somewhere out of the main square. All the place's i visited in Europe, Chinese food was the cheapest. They have entrees for like 4 euro's.

  5. No, they are on the whole all bloody expensive. But as you are likely to be there on holiday does it matter?  If you are there on business find the most expensive one you can (St Marks Square should do the job) then submit your expenses on your return.

P.S. You can usually eat in a pizzaria fairly cheaply.  This may become boring after a short while though.

  7. Ask a cop when you get there. They always know the Best of everything in their city.

  8. I found all restaurants in Venice quite expensive but there was a lovely hotel in which i stayed last year in Mestre,  excellent food at a reasonable price. and the people were very helpful indeed. its 9 km from Venice and the web site    www.hotel-venezia.com

its a 3 star hotel with has comforts for a 4 star. i will definitely go back there again.

  9. why? do u want to buy one?

  10. I've been working near Venice for 4 summer season, in an Hotel in lido di Jesolo, and I've always said to my customer that if they wanted a cheap restaurant but with good food in Venice the best way to find it is follow builders at lunch!!!

they are on budget but they want to eat good food and they always go to cheap places where u eat good food to take them trough the day!!

Good tip avoid San Marc square, actually,if u a right in the front of San Marc church there is a street on the left hand side of the church, follow it and on the corner where the little calle is starting there is a bar where u pay a cappuccino 1,20 euro, not the astronomic 10 in main square!

Also stop in any bar that u re find on the way from San Marc to Piazzale Roma, have some cicchetti and a glass of Spritz with Aperol, the tipical venetian drink!!

    I m italian,believe me!!!
