My husband just left for basic training and my children (3 yrs and 2 yrs) are having a hard time dealing with the idea of daddy being gone. Does anyone know of any books that deal with this topic?

  1. my hubby is Air Force

you should be able to call family support (at whatever base your family will be stationed at) for a goody bag of stuff to help your children cope

also get the video (militaryonesource.com) talk listen connect it's an elmo video about his dad deploying

We have a 4 yr old daughter who is going through the 5th deployment since she was born and she's taking it harder this time more than ever before but the help that family support gives is very useful

  2. There is an Air Force book I have called "My Daddy is an Airman" it explains it pretty well. Check for it, or something like it, on Amazon.

  3. My husband is in the Army and he is getting ready to deploy to Iraq for the second time. I have no idea of any books but I know the posts MWR has dvds for kids dealing with that kind of stuff. I don't about boot camp and AIT but they have Elmo videos about Elmo's dad going to Iraq. It is really cute. If you live near a military post go to their PX and look there. I will check next time I go and see if there are any cute books and I'll let you know. If your interested email me tinaluvshersoldier@yahoo.com!! Good luck!! I know it's hard  now but from Army wife to military wife it doesn't get much easier with this war going on.
