  1. There are no cruise ships in Orlando. That is in the middle of the state, and therefore does not have a port.

If you are thinking of Port Canaveral, that is about an hour's drive from Orlando. As for who is hiring, you would need to contact the cruise lines directly. Check out the websites of Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Disney, as those 3 have the most ships using Port Canaveral.

  2. you just need to go on the cruise line's website for career opps, however, i don't believe you get to choose what ship you want to be on since the staff changes ships as needed, so you have to be able to sail anywhere.

  3. The major cruise lines that serve the US do not have their headquarters in Orlando.  Some have their headquarters offices in Miami, Florida.  BUT, just because you may interview and be hired in Florida does not mean you will be working in Florida if hired.  When you get hired by a cruise line you must sign a contract to work on the ship for pretty much continuous time for about 8 or 9 months.  Then you would be assigned to a ship which may sail out of Miami, Ft Lauderdale, Tampa, Port Canaveral, and any of about 25 other ports around the country and the world.  In Addition, in some cases a ship that sails from Miami during the winter may sail from Boston to go to New England and Canada during the fall, or even from a port like Dover, England or Barcelona, Spain.  So if you are looking to work just in Florida about the only way is if you work in an office job on land rather than on a ship.

But you should contact the cruise lines to get first hand information about their hiring.  Several cruise lines like Royal Caribbean, Disney, Norwegian, and some others are having new ships built and so they will be looking for additional staff.

Below are the major cruise lines serving the US.  Each has a link to jobs, employment, or some such that will lead you to jobs information and how and where to apply.
