We had one in the sitting room last night, it was the size of a baby's hand and moved like lightning.

  1. OMG you have just painted an awfully frightening picture there.

But yes, I have some electrical plug-ins that have a green light and make a ticking noise which apparently deterr them. I also have a cat, which I suspect is more of a repellent. Also, I had my flat sprayed once and they all died within a couple of weeks. Have some pestcontrollers spray your place!

  2. They can't stand the smell of chestnuts!

    This works:

  3. Close up small openings into your living spaces with caulking -- have an exterminator spray that will kill the little bugs spiders eat --cats help but often don't kill the spider-it is just an interesting movable non-mouse to them----get hot-shot spider killer and keep cans handy---

You might want to go online and identify the spider type.  It will help you to know it is not poisonous.  Sounds like it might be a wolf spider-- they're big and move fast but my exterminator says they are "harmless".  Some folks say hedgeapples are a deterrent, and some folks say Lemon Pledge and Pam cooking spray are deterrents once you know where they are coming from.  I feel for you!

  4. a cat is good for spiders our cat caches them all the time but apart frm that  ????

  5. Hair lacquer, works every time.

  6. try a duster!!!!

  7. We, too, use something called No More Spiders, it contains chestnut & clover, both of which are alleged to repel spiders.  Certainly, since using it regularly around the windows and doors we've seen many less.

The cat also hunts and eats them - ugh!
