WoW is free? Anyway if you're looking for a MMORPG try FFXI it's really good, but it can be a hectic starting process. Recommend starting out with a friend. You can try NeoPets :)

http://www.sherwooddungeon.com/ - it's a 3D browser-based game (I mean don't need download) similar to WoW at graphics (third-person view, good graphics etc.), but you can't do as many thing as you can on WoW or RS.

http://www.puzzlepirates.com/ - create a pirate and enjoy the pirates world, buy houses, clothes, go on journeys or go to sea hunting with ships.

http://www.miniclip.com/ - at multiplayer section is a short list of multiplayer games.

http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm - a full list of mmoorpgs, available free or pay, download or browser-based, with ratings and screenshots. I don't know if all of them are secure, I didn't played so much games :P.
