  1. They're out there, I promise...because I'm at one!   It depends on what kind of school you want: Ivy, state school, liberal arts, big or small, what environment, etc.  Honestly, you don't need an "Archaeology" major to go to grad school.  In the US the discipline is usually considered a subset of Anthropology, as is Cultural, Linguistic, and Biological Anthropology.  Of course, Art History, History, and Geology are integral to the study of Archaeology, and if you end up going to a school with just Anthro, you should take classes in these departments (maybe double major or minor).  Of course, the Ivys, especially the University of Chicago and University of Pennsylvania (holla!) are the most well-known.  Many state schools have the major, and a select few LACs do, too.  Dickinson College recently got a write-up in Archaeology magazine for their intense dig-simulator, and I known Wesleyan has an Arch major.  Hope this helps, and good luck!

  2. For most of the United States and Canada, archaeology is part of the Department of Anthropology. Nearly every school will have an anthropologist, but not all small colleges have an archaeology faculty. University of Michigan, Arizona State University, University at Buffalo, Harvard University, University of Cambridge (UK) and University of Wisconsin-Madison all have very good archaeology faculty and programs. If these sound too big to you, Millsaps College in Mississippi have an excellent archaeologist named Galaty. But these are only a very few places. Two questions you should consider are - First, do you need to go to a state school in the state where you live? If so, check their websites and see which has the most/best archaeologists (you can post their names here, for example, to see if anyone has heard of them).

Second, what kind of archaeology do you want to study? Egyptology? Midwestern US/ Hopewell? Palaeolithic? Mesoamerica? If you are still in high school you may not know what kind of archaeology you are most interested in, in which case go to the best school you can and you will get excited about some aspect for sure.

    Hope this helps.

  3. depends on the type of archaeology you want to do...prehistoric, historic, old world, underwater...etc...

  4. rutgers is a top school (for graduate studies anyways).. not sure about undergrad

Washington University (in St. Louis) is also reknown for its archaeology...

I really doubt you cant find ANY schools.. you're probably just not looking under the correct deparment.. not all schools have an archaeology deparment, but many offer it as a major through other departments (ie anthropology)
