I really can't stand WAMU anymore they're making me nuts with the way they handle my money and I'd like to switch to another bank. Otherwise I'll just have to rely on my good old piggy bank. :)

  1. The big banks like WAMU can be a pain because they are for-profit businesses that generate revenue by charging fees. My reccomendation would be to look for a credit union in NY because CU's typically charge way less because they're non profit. If you travel often remember that many CU's are a part of an national association to make themselves more accessible to customers with national needs. Good luck to you!

  2. NY has many older banks that are good  WAMU is a newer bank that may be on the FDIC's  bad list.   Go to an older bank like Chase or City There are banks on every corner in NY.  If you don't like one go to another.  You don't seem to be comfortable with your present bank, so change.  good luck

  3. this is going to sound silly but its the truth. putting your money in any kind of bank is a rip off. people put money in banks to save, right? The average a bank actually gives you in a savings account is1- 1.5% inflation is at 3.1% and rising...+1.5% and -3.1% are you really saving? They give you stuff like mutual funds, stocks, bonds and so on but they are all taxed. What do you think banks do with your money that you cant do yourself? Why are banks so rich? sorry for venting it just bothers me when people put money in banks. If you want to know a much better way to handle your money you can e-mail me.
