Me & my friends are planning a formal event for our private school and I'm trying to find a good formal restaurant in Seattle where we can reserve a banquet hall (preferebly one with a dance floor!) and we are having a little trouble! Keep in mind we are all highschool students and can't afford a $60 meal! lol. Any suggestions would be great!

Thanks :)

  1. One good way to make this work is to rent out a hall, such as from the Knights of the Templar (or something like that) right by the big church in Capital Hill a block behind Broadway and Pike.  My sister (well actually our parents) rented out this hall to throw her 21st birthday there and it was a really nice place for what it was.  It would be renting out the hall and then having the food catered, which would be "extra work", but would mean that you could choose the setting and then choose the food and not necessarily need a package deal.  I know a friend of mine is also renting out some Elk's Club Lodge for his wedding in September that's on 145th and Lake City Way in Lake City, but there's all sorts of options if you go that route of just getting a hall space and then catering the food from a restaurant you all love!

  2. I can tell you the perfect place!! I've been planning a birthday party for my girlfriend, so I've been looking everywhere. Try Pasta Freska on Westlake. I went there to try out the place. The gentleman that owns it is renting out the entire restaurant for my party. He is serving us an 8 course meal for $24 a person. That's right, an 8 course meal. I thought it was too good to be true. I went there & he gave me a sample meal. I had pasta, halibut, eggplant Parmesan, chicken Marsala with spinach and pine nuts, steak.... and the list goes on. He can accomodate vegatarians as well. He will close the restaurant down for you. You just have to spend at least $1000 flat. That will be easy with 50 people. Wine and beer are very reasonable (for the adults). Check it out!!
