Does anyone know of any good fun restaurants in Houston?

I have a 6 hour layover in houston in the morning... I wanted a fun place with good food, any suggestions?

Not to be mean... but you have obviously NEVER been to Houston... the Traffic here is so bad that I wouldn't suggest someone leaving an airport that has to be back for another flight. The airport has some pretty decent restaurants there... I know they have a Chili's for sure. I would have to suggest that you do something like that just cuz I would be afraid that you wouldn't make it back in time with security and traffic!

Well, if your layover begins at 11:00 AM at IAH, then there's is great seafood restaurant near the airport---just take a cab to:

Jimmy G's Cajun Seafood Restaurant

You'll have two hours for lunch---figuring 1 1/2 hours each way to get in and out of security, and a 1/2 hour each way (in case there's traffic) for the cab ride.  The food is great!  Cajun Style!  Enjoy!

I would recommend staying at the airport. After security and Houston traffic you really do NOT want to leave the confines of the secure areas. I don't know which airport you are going through, but this site might help you:

It is the official site of the Houston airport system. When you access that page, select the correct airport. Each airport (well, IAH and HOB, anyway) have links that say "Terminals and Amenities". Restaurants are listed under each one.

I assume by layover you mean at one of the airports.  IAH (Intercontinental) is way north of the city and HOU (Hobby) is sort of close to downtown but there will not be anything opened too early in the morning maybe at around 11:00am for lunch but you run the rest of missing your flight.  Just take a book, magazine or newspaper and tough it out for the 6 hours.

If you are flying in to IAH, you should check out Pappsito's.

Exit the airport via Hwy 59 North.

Exit FM1960 west toward Deerbrook Mall.

Pappasito's is on the right.
