Does anyone know of any good reggae clubs in Jamaica?

I'm planning a trip to JM with some of my friends mid-June, and we want to go to dance. While tourist areas are great, we also want to get the local experience too. Any recommendations?

  1. That depends on where you will be staying. In Montego Bay, Negril or Ocho Rios, entertainment is geared towards tourists. While, in Kingston the entertainment is geared toward locals.

There are a number of nightclubs in Kingston such as: Asylum, Quad (a multi-level club with 4 clubs) and Peppers which are the three most popular clubs in Kingston. There are also a number of street dances on any given night including Uptown Mondays and Passa Passa Wednesdays the most popular street dance in Jamaica, which draws thousands every week.

There are a number of hotels in Kingston including The Hilton Kingston,  The Courtleigh Hotel, The Pegasus and also The Four Seasons.

If you would like to contact any of these hotels I can assist you.

Kingston is a lively and vibrant city which is quite different from the tourist areas. For one, it's the real Jamaica.

  2. Once you get there you will see advertisements for local dances. Also they will be broadcasted on the radio and flyers in the shop window as well as big colorful signs on utility poles. The outdoor sound system dances are the way to go!  There is always something going on. Maybe a stage show will be happening. As far as clubs, I have been to Amnesia and The Roof Top. They were pretty fun. Great music. I have never been to a hotel club.

  3. Hello just about all of them in New KINGSTON like Quad, Assylum, Escape and others

  4. Jimmy Buffet's very own Margaritaville!!! Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. both places have 'em!!!
