I've already tried flash cards, CD's, & just having her writing them out out over & over but nothing is getting through. I was wondering if they have any videos to help. Thanks all.

  1. We ended up doing races with our daughter.  If she came up with the answer first, she got 5 cents.  For some reason, not thinking about it made her realize she knew them better than she thought.

    I thought about making it physical for her...if yours loves sports or competitions, that might be a good way to go.  Like put multiplication facts on one side of the room and she has the answers on the other.  Time her to see if she can run the answers, one at a time, to the right problems in less than a minute (or whatever time you set up.)

    Wrap ups are more fun than flashcards and very portable.  We really like them. You can find them at learning sites (kaplantoys) and also mass sites (like amazon).

    school house rock.... number 3

    enjoy

  3. When the flashcards did not work on me my parents resorted to using beans.  I would have a group of seven beans and then I would have to multiply that group seven times, etc.  You get the idea.  My little sister was lucky, she got to use Skittles and M&M's and eat them if she was right.

  4. There are video's, or DVD's called Standard Deviants; http://www.sdlearn.com/default.asp

    I would also look into School House Rock;

    These will teach by song, and music; this works for many young people when they need to memorize materials.

    Here is a math site that may help it has many fun games to try;

    We also used games with our son on the computer, we used Math Blasters, and it worked great.

    He also likes board games so we got the idea from another family to make up sheets with multiplications facts to play tic tac toe; his  favorite game.

    Try this free download.   Flash cards didn't work for me very well either.  This is fun for the child and they memorize the facts very quickly.   The child memorizes the mult facts via a game of a knocking out a monster in a dungeon.
