but nothing seems to look like something the kids will want to get involved with. If you guys know of a fantastic website with preschool activities only, then feel free to share and or also if you can give me ideas of your own that you have felt were effective with children of this age group. Thanks! (* preschool: ages 1 to 6)

  1. dltk-kids.com is a great site for crafts.

Kids that age almost always love very tactile type activities. Also, provide them with a "tickle trunk" (like Mr. Dressup used to have) and fill it with old clothes, hats, jewelry, shoes, anything else you want to just throw in there. That should keep the 3-6 ers real busy!

  2. science, science, science..... let them play with water, grow things, make pendulums.  Go to a teacher's supply store and get science activity books.  The young ones are the best to start learning science.

  3. Try these (they are all by themes):

    http://www.perpetualpreschool.com/presch...

  4. make crafts.Make goo.let them get a little messy.let them draw a lot.draw picture and ask them to draw it and name it(they dont have to write its name down)

  6. well take celery and put peanut butter on them then rasaiens then tell them that it is ants on a stick

  7. www.preschooleducation.com is a great website that is free, is used by teachers and has great print outs and stuff. they cover all sorts of topics....a word of warning. only get on the website when you have a lot of time to be on the web, it is addicting!!

I am a nanny for 3 children age 5 1/2 (twins) and 2 1/2. I use the site all the time...

    good luck

  8. When my son was in preschool, playdough was the bomb. They would have all sorts of everyday around the house stuff to make shapes( cookie cutters etc.)

Also, the coffee filters with little food coloring droppers. Pasta and paper plates with glue. then after they make something fabulous you take it outside and spray paint, We used bright gold at Christmas time and put red bows on it to make reefs but you can do it at any time.

  9. Well, I own a preschool/daycare and have found some great activities these kids love. Their ages are 1 to 4, but 5 or 6 year olds probably will love this too. If you search on the internet Mother Goose Preschool, you can order a whole variety of activities you get in the mail. You do have to pay, and im not sure the cost. OR, create small day plans or weekly plans, like show-and-tell and whats the weather. If you can get the children to use things like crayons, construction paper and glue, you can make anything. For a little tip, in the fall have them make owls and pumpkins and let them make their own little designs on them. It really gets them going!
