Does anyone know of any legends involving an amulet?

any suggestions on fictional books/folklore legends about an amulet or piece of jewellery?

In my culture, which is of Filipino heritage, we had stories and legends about "anting-anting"'s and "agimat"'s which are essentially amulets with charms. It was believed that these amulets warded off danger from its bearers.

Coincidentally, if I remember it right, a couple of years ago, a news story about amulets were featured in a local channel. A man was being mugged but he refused to give in. As a result, the lowlife of a mugger shot him squarely in the chest and ran. The man collapsed and was rushed by bystanders to the nearest hospital. It was then discovered that he had no wounds and that his amulet, a large ancient coin was hit by the bullet, therefore, blocking it. Turns out, the man fainted from shock. Who wouldn't? Hahaha!

Whether or not this is a coincident, only you can decide.

1. Harmonia's necklace. (Greek mythology) The necklace was a wedding gift from Hephaestus, who was pissed that his wife Aphrodite was cheating with Ares (Harmonia was Ares's child by Aphrodite.) The necklace kept one eternally young and beautiful, but misfortune fell on anyone who wore it. The necklace was handed down in the House of Thebes, since Harmonia married Cadmus of Thebes. The two most famous women who wore the necklace would be Queen Jocasta (Oedipus) and Semele, daughter of Harmonia and mother of Dionysus. (She's the poor girl who asked to see Zeus's true form and subsequently was burnt into ashes.)
