  1. If You Eat Dry Toast That should help my mum told me to do it and it worked :D

  2. drink a mix of hot water, a spoonful of honey and lemon juice.

works a treat on all throat conditions.

  3. For me, gargling frequently with Listerine works.

Often a tickly cough is caused by an irritating foreign object that gets attached to your throat.  Your body then attacks the object, and tries to eliminate it by surrounding it.  Often this does not work well, and can lead to an infection.

Gargling provides a agitating action like a washing machine to help loosen, and then when you spit out, expel the irritant.

For some salt water works just as well for gargling, and is much cheaper.

  4. chocolate, suck the chocolate pieces to sooth and stop the cough.

    only works with tickly coughs.

  5. Check your house for mold! It is a severe risk to your health and could even kill you. Molds off-gas toxins as they are growing. They can cause a tickling sensation in the back of your throat, hemmoraging in infants, seizures, compromise your immune system and more. Look up the dangers of mold (especially black mold) on the internet and look for it inside of your home (especially your bathroom, kitchen and basement.) If you find it, collect it (not with your hands) and put it in a ziploc bag, then look up companies that do testing on organic matter and send it out to be tested to see what kind it is. Then put bleach or hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle and spray the area that has the mold on it, let it sit for about ten minutes then scrub it down. If you are using bleach, use a mask, if you are using hydrogen peroxide, use gloves. If you have carpeting where you find mold, try to pull back the edge of the carpet to see if the mold is growing underneath the carpet too. If so, you'll need to take the carpeting out and bleach the surface under it. If it's really bad you may even have to replace the flooring under the carpet. My husband and I have already been through this, so it's possible to get rid of it. If the problem isn't mold, get checked for formaldehyde poisoning (you'll want to look up sources of formaldehyde and the other names it goes by, what products it's used in and the effects of it on line) Your best bet is to do a detoxifying bath to get rid of whatever is ailing you. There are natural recipes on line. Good luck!

  6. Honey and lemon

  7. Honey is very soothing for your throat, add 1 teaspoon to, 1 table spoon lemon juice,( fresh is preferable) and a thin, fresh slice of ginger root, if you don't have ginger root add a table spoon of ginger ale, or ginger beer. Warm for a few seconds in the microwave. It will fizz a bit if you add the ginger ale and beer. Sip when ever your throat tickles, it will soon stop!

Otherwise shop bought "fisherman's friends" losengers.

  8. Hot tea is good for coughs and throat irritation.

  9. strepsils works great...Old home remedy of my mom that worked: Hot tea with honey and fresh squeezed lemon...gargling water with a touch of salt dissolved in it...when you do have to cough, pat your chest gently. this can loosen any phlem that might be the irritant

  10. Strepsils...worked for me

  11. wash your face with hot soapy water- mild soap- rinse rinse rinse by splashing a lot of water on your face. pat dry- then spray your nose with non medicated saline nose drops. Don't blow your nose- that only agravates a tickle. Drink plenty of plain clear fluids like water and teas.

I forgot to mention chewing two pieces of chewing gum at the same time. it helps

  12. hot water a spoon of honey and a dash of lemon juice, works for me every time, also suck on boiled sweets or cough sweets to keep your throat lubricated.

  15. You don't state your age, if you are on heart medication, you could have an "ace inhibitor cough."  Check with your doctor, if you have started a new BP med.
