Does anyone know of any quality all inclusive resorts in the Dominican and/or Mexico?

Question

Taking a trip in April...never been to either place. looking for a reasonably priced quality resort, or at least a good website to look for places. just looking to hang out on the beach, eat & drink for a week

I went to Case de Campo in DR for my honeymoon, almost 20 years ago. Was nice but do not leave the resort. Areas around are and still are scary ghetto areas. At that time there were plenty of restuarants, etc at the resort so no need to go outside. I am sure it is even nicer and bigger now.

My friends and I are going to Oasis Cancun in May but i heard the Grand Oasis Cancun is more upscale, clean, and for ollder individuals.  If you want t keep away from the loud drunks at the Oasis, you should try the Grand Oasis

We stayed at the Barcelo Maya near Playa del Carmen, Mexico this summer, and we loved it. They have any kind of food you can imagine, with theme nights at the buffet. It was great. They also had a tequila bar with various types of tequila,where you could go up and fix a shot or add a little extra to your drink. Not to mention it has super pools and beaches.I would recommend it to anyone.

I have to highly recommend the Mexican Mayan Riviera, an area South of Cancun.

Flighyts are around $350 usd

There are many all inclusive resorts there, check online; oh, the temp there Now is a Balmy 82f with white sandy beaches and cold beer, the Ocean temp is 85f; did I mention Euro woman also vacation there and wear no tops on the beaches ?

Conduct your search by checking Mayan vacation spots and so on and something good will pop up.

I went to Puerto Plata, DR and would NOT recommend it to anyone.  The hotels seemed nice but the surrounding area is like a ghetto and the food (everywhere, not just the hotel) was completely unedible.  THe only people I found that could tolerate the food was the Europeans.  I'd suggest Mexico.
