Question:

Does anyone know of any really good MMORPG-style games that are single player? Or more games like Fate?

I am not a big fan of MMORPG games. I just like to play single player rpg games. I love the look of World of Warcraft, Everquest, and Guild Wars but since I don't care for the whole MMORPG thing I don't play them. Are there any games that are single player that are similar to those games? I also love to play the game "Fate" and if anyone knows of any games like that, let me know because I want more. But my main thing is that I'm looking for something that's a lot more along the lines of World of Warcraft, etc. I love the whole wide-open, richly detailed, quest filled, character creating, epic fantasy adventure thing but I can't seem to find anything that is like an MMORPG but is single player. If anyone could steer a single player rpg fan like myself in the direction I should go by recommending some great single player MMORPG-style games, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance! The more games you can recommend, the better!

  1. Elder scrolls

  2. I would definitely look into the Elder Scrolls series (especially Morrowind, and then Oblivion).  I played Guild Wars for a good while, and rarely ever joined groups and played the majority of the game and expansions on my own (unless a couple friends were on). So it's possible to do without others. Fable wasn't bad, but it was a bit short in my opinion, but i supposed the Lost Chapters version remedied that. And you can look into Fable 2.

Neverwinter Nights is another decent RPG series...I didn't get into it as much as ES, but it wasn't bad. Another one that I played for a bit, was Sacred. It was pretty in depth and a good time.  But yeah, top choice would be Morrowind and/or Oblivion.

  3. Sorry but all RPG games like that are online and not single player, World of Warcraft is what i play but for a more of a free option you could try Runescape but if you have a Xbox 360 or PS3 then you can try Oblivion for a RPG. There is of course the Knights of the Old Republic for Xbox which may take your fancy... try looking around for some. Hope i helped :D
