I am so tired lately and I can't seem to want to stay awake. I am under significant stress. My doctor is of no use to me. I wonder if someone has better knowledge about herbal supplements I can take to improve my energy level that would also decrease my appetite. It seems like all I am doing is eating to stay awake and not for health reasons.

  1. Ugh! I feel the SAME way! All week long I've been SO tired!! Not to mention the stress from my family (crazy situation right now!)

And just my luck, yesterday afternoon my throat started to hurt, and today I am SICK! Headach, sore throat, stuffy nose..

I am going to try MY BEST to start eating more plant-based foods. They've got so many good things packed into them. I took a nutrition class my first semester of college (2 years ago) and my professor constantly stressed how much better we'll feel in our every day life if we just eat a diet consisting of more plant based foods and less processed foods.

    It kinda makes sense.

I say i'm going to "try my best" because in todays society its so hard to sit down and prepare meals, not to mention the cost of fruits and veggies is often high. If you've got a farmers market near by (local farmers sell their goods), I'd check it out. Even if you just replace some of your daily snacks with fresh fruits or veggies, I have a feeling you'll notice a difference.

Somebody mentioned herbal teas. Green tea is packed with antioxidants and it has caffeine in it, so theres an extra bonus.

I'd probably get a second oppinion too if your doctor isnt doing you any good. Sometimes being tired can be a result of illness.

    Good luck!!

  2. You can drink some herbal teas...Echinacea and St. Johns Wort come to mind....they also have homeopathic herbal tablets that can help with any ailment...check at your local co-op market or health food store.  Also, try to keep your diet in check: cut back on the sugar and include more fruit and vegetable juices.

  3. milk,wheet, and fruit salad

  4. Take a mixture of vitamin B's, and if you are detoxing for marijuana make sure that it contains Niacin, which is a B vitamin which burns the THC out of your muscles and fat.

  6. i bet if you started takin prenatal vitamins or womens vitamins everyday it would help, you might not be gettin all the nutrients you need. ......Ginseng helps with energy, but my book says safe, but not very efficacious..Ginko-circulatory stimulant, safe and effective.  Enada,NADH-mental clarity, and alertness, chronic fatigue syndrome, but has insufficient evidence.

  7. If possible try to get your sleep cycle such that you are getting most of your sleep between 10 PM and 6 AM this helps the organs to regenerate at night and helps normalize the appetite. Make sure that you sleep a good 6 to 9 hours each night.

Eat a lot of raw vegetables some lightly cooked vegetables and some fresh fruit. Avoid sugar and processed food. Avoid coffee and alcohol. Unfortunately, these are probably the exact things you are craving but you may begin by replacing the coffee with some unsweetened tea. (by the way another person mentioned homeopathic tea, there is no such thing, they may have been thinking wholistic or herbal. Homeopathy is a very specific modality of wholistic care that uses tiny microdoses of a substance to drive a symptom form your body, very effective but you must get the correct remedy for your exact set of symptoms)

As for detox, psyllium hulls mixed with water 3 x per day starting with 1/2 teaspoon and increasing the dose gradually to a full teaspoon. Liquid chlorophyl in a glass of water 3x per day. Take a moderate walk every day.

If symptoms persist, see your doctor. Test for allergies, thyroid, blood sugar disorder.

  8. Try a B-Vitamin complex. With B-12 B5, B6 and a bunch of others. It's in red bull and it helps increase energy and concentration and decrease stress.

Try a product called RESTORE.  It's an exotic fruit powder, fiber rich detox juice elixir.  This deep tissue detox juice elixir is changing lives all over the country as we speak.  It cleanses and detoxifies, timulates the immune system, neutralizes stress and INCREASES YOUR ENERGY.  I need all of that in my busy lifestyle- how about you?

RESTORE is a powder delivery system therefore your system absorbs better and faster.  You can mix it in water, juice, or make a delicious smoothie.  Some people stir it into their yogurt.  I won't start the day without it.  It has made a significant difference in my energy level and my resistance to sickness has increased as well.

I hope you will really consider trying this product.  You won't be disappointed.

  10. you might be anaemic

its when you have less red blood cells then normal

or white blood cells (i forget which)

anyway the majority of women in the world is effective by this, largely because the amount of blood we lose each month in menstrual cycle and also if you don't eat foods high in iron such as spinach

having this problem will make you feel sluggish, as though you never have energy and the constant need for sleep.. you could sleep 10hrs+ wake up and then 2hrs later be tired again (this happens to me everyday) :(

to lesson the effects of anaemia you will need to take tablets called:  sulphuric Sulphate tablets (which are iron tablets purchased over the counter) as the dosage per tablet is large

don't buy the tubs of 'iron tabs' on the other side of the counter as the dosage unit is too small to have any relevant effect on you.

when you go to your chemist, just ask for them.. they should ask you if a doc has previously prescribed them to you.. you can either lie and say yes and they will sell you it OR you can say no, and they will tell you to go to your docs to get a blood test done.. which will take up to 2weeks (for you to wait for the results to see if you do in fact have a problem with your blood)

these tablets are harmless yet very effective when used correctly.

even people who arent effected by anemia can take them just to keep a good iron count in their blood

  11. If you want to detox I know a bunch of herbs for that. Red clover, burdock, fenugreek, black walnut, sasparilla, Pau d' arco, and cedar woodchips.  I usually mix a few of these at a time and drink them in a tea.

Also I know an excellent drink you can mix up to clean your liver which I have taking  every day recently.  Right when you wake up in the morning you should drink it first thing before you eat or drink anything.  You take a warm glass of water (around 8 oz.) put a pinch of ginger in it, the juice of about half a lemon, and 2 Tbs. of olive oil. Drink that down, its very good for you!!

  12. Perhaps you need a women's energy multivitamin every day as they contasin extra B vitamins for energy.

The green superfood spirulina is also a good energy booster.

  13. take relentless energy drink that as me bouncing of the walls lol
