Does anyone know of any volunteer work with animals in Birmingham?

I have just left sixth form and i'm starting a degree in animal biology in september. I've contacted various local organisations but there is either nothing available or insurance problems for volunteers? Does anyone know of anything?

Alternatively you could set up your own volunteer organisation, I know that vinspired are currently offering £2,500 funding to 16-25 year olds:
