  1. I would read some of these beautiful poems here at this site. The person that listed words that related can help you a lot, search your feelings, write them in a list, then write nouns that will connect.

  2. Yes....................practice makes perfect....................keep practicing every day.

    Write every chance you get.

Pour out your thoughts on paper.

carry paper and pencil with you and jot down ideas as they pop into your mind.

    Keep writing!

    Good luck!!!

  3. There is no substitute for reading and writing. Fortunately for poets, it doesn't mater what they read--just they need to read lots. Read anything--manuals, phonebooks, comics, whatever--just read.

Writing is really secondary, but that helps you to get the process moving and helps you hear where you're at.

Next, read your poems out loud. Not at a slam--that's usually not poetry, it is performance. Read them out loud, alone, and listen to how they sound.

Finally, learn early on about the objective correlative. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Objective_c... It is the hardest thing for young writers to master.

  4. Here are some good links to get started ♥

A good tip: check the questions on poems - submitted here on YA.  Some of the critiquing answers may help you out.

  5. I think it's in you or it isn't.... practice.. write about those things you care deeply for and about... always read it back to yourself as there are two different skill sets involved..it's like a system of checks and balances.  Finally, write when the mood hits you..you can't force a poem it will sound like a Hallmark card.  Good Luck...

  6. Just keep writting

    try different styles

thats what I did, and so far it has worked(I have a poem published in a book)  think of an event in your life that is of great significance(either good or bad) and write about it

    hope this helps!
