Does anyone know of any women's only martial art classes in Denver,CO?

The reason I am looking for a women's only class is because I was in a class before and it was almost all males including the instructor. So many times I had to spar with a male. So I felt a little uncomfortable. If there aren't any women's only classes I wouldn't mind a class with a female instructor and a more balanced ratio of women to men.

  1. well a woman needs to spar with men.to have a realist self defense training.as far as equal number of males and females.that hard because more males take martial arts then females. a better thing is to try and recruit your female friends to take class with you

  2. You should (unless harrassed) stay in the classes with a higher ratio of men. These "men" are "skilled" and can help you greatly in your defense applications. Generally speaking if you get accosted it will be by a male and they are much stronger and larger than women (generally). If you practice with women only you'll get a false sense of security, and when it becomes showtime you have a greater chance of failing miserably, and getting hurt or killed.

You should also stick to the class to build up your confidence. If this is a school where the people are genuinely interested in learning MA they won't be thinking of you as a little hottie. They'll see you as another student. So just show your enthousiasm for the art and you will be respected.
