I coach fifth graders and it seems that we are doing the same drills over and over before the games. I was wondering if anyone had new ideas that I could use!

  1. A good drill is three person passing. Have three girls on the court in back row, and then one setter. On the other side of the net, hit either free balls or normal serves to the girls, and they have to pass to the setter. Once they are warmed up, see if they can get ten perfect passes in a row.

    Hope it helps!

  2. I know tons!! First do 3'3'2 and 2'2'3 (blocks) then do 10 approaches and transitions. Then do 10 serves with a partner. 15 crunches and sit-ups,then pass for 5 min. with your partner! It works for me every time!!!!

  3. -Run throughs

    -Serve and Chase

    -Blocking/Hitting

    -Serve Recieve

-Doing your approach with a tennis ball

in your hitting hand, and swinging and

    snapping through.

    -Dead Fish

    -Two Touch

    -Shuttle Passing

If you need me to clarify anything

    just e-mail me=]

  5. Hey,

I play volleyball all the time and have played for about 5 years now so i've had lots of different warmup routines. a good one is to get in a circle and have the setter get in the middle and one person start by passing to the setter and the setter will pass to someone else and why your doing this if you want to syke out the other team then you should yell really loud when calling the balls and maybe count them outload to see how many in a row you can get.

Hope you guys try this and have a great time.

  6. Get a good stretch in, get a partner and warm up your arms, PEPPER. Then do approaches followed by fast blocking drill.

  7. We pepper.  You get into a circle and you have to make sure you keep the ball off of the ground.  This can be really fun, you have to make sure you control everything and it has to do with a lot of team work.  Another thing we do is hit the ball off of the wall.  It gets you ready for serving AND hitting, because you have to have the same form, but you hit it on the floor before the wall, it bounces off and you have to hit it again.  There is a way to going about that drill differently, but if you want to know more about it message me.

Another thing we do is we do a lot of hitting drills.  We have the normal setters in place, and then we set for the hitters, which have their own balls.  They throw it to you, you set it..and then they hit it, with the appropriate form.  Another hitting/blocking drill, is getting in a line on one side, then you have to jump at three points on the net.  You run, get into the form, and jump.  then go to the middle of the net, and do the same thing.  And then on the last side, you do it again, and then you have to get low and into the volleyball stance, and go as fast backwards [without falling] as you can, and then go sideways and back into the line.  This is hard to explain, I know, but I would be willing to show you pictures of what I mean and everything I am saying.

Another thing we do, is serving on both sides.  We get half of the team on one side, and the other half on the other.  We practice serving back and forth, and sometimes we have people we try to aim the serve at.  I have become very aware of were serves are going to land now.  It is deffinitly easy to decide wear it is going, once you know this..^__^.

I have a lot of drills, so if you would like to know more, email me!

  8. yea well what my team does is we pass with a partner then we pepper with each other! then we hit and then serve! i think thats a good warm up because it warms you up with the basics!

  9. yes. your coach hits one ball at you then she throws another one so you have to dive. It gets you warm. and pumped. It is called the 2 ball drill.
