Does anyone know of specific works of literature where weather is important?

I have to write an English essay on the importance of weather in literature, my problem is I can't think of any works of literature right now. I want to use something where rain is important...any ideas? Anything Biblical or from Shakespear would be great.

Noah's Ark was given as an example so I can't use that one. Thanks for your help!

The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe? The perpetual snow/winter is pretty important to the plot.

In the Odyssey by Homer the Gods use the weather and the sea to keep Odysseus away from home.

The weather in The Tempest (whose title refers to the storm Prospero raised).

Jospeh's interpretation of Pharoah's dream, and the famine that follows.  Some think the famine was due to a drought.

"...Is it not wheat harvest now? I will call upon the LORD to send thunder and rain. And you will realize what an evil thing you did in the eyes of the LORD when you asked for a king. Then Samuel called upon the LORD, and that same day the LORD sent thunder and rain. So all the people stood in awe of the LORD and of Samuel." -- I Samuel 12:17, 18

Some other works where weather is important:

The drought in The Grapes of Wrath.

The fog in Macbeth.

The nor'easter in The Perfect Storm.

The snow and the cold in Doctor Zhivago.  (The snow and the cold are important elements in a lot of literature having to do with Russia.)

The cold in Never Cry Wolf.  (Just as literature set in Russia, the cold features prominently in many works set in Alaska.)
