Does anyone know (or care!) what handball is?

Handball is a team sport where two teams of seven players each six players and a goalkeeper pass and bounce a ball trying to throw it in the goal of the opposing team. The game has a goal similar to but smaller than the one in soccer, though as the name implies, the basic method of handling the ball involves the players' hands rather than their feet (get it? in Europe, football is soccer and is played with feet and handball with hands. I played it in highschool and the game is really fun.

I don't know if your "handball" is what I am about to write, but here it goes.

It's a team sports, similar to soccer or hockey for that matter, involves two team on a court, divided into two sections, of course, opposite team's section, and our team's section.  As I said, just like hockey, the goal of the game is to score a point by putting the ball into opposing team's goal and the more you score by the end of the regulation, you win.  I guess it plays like the basketball game, which involves passing but is played in a smaller court.  You get to use your hand while playing, passing, or throwing, of course, and no kicking the ball.  I am not sure about dribbling though whether it is allowed in the game.

Ah. there's a goalie protecting the team's net(goal).  I guess this is why I said it's similar to the hockey.  In a way, I guess it is very similar to that of water polo, but played on a court.

actually, handball is a surprisingly fun sport where you basically use your hand to whack the ball against a wall.  it's pretty popular in ny (with school handball teams and stuff) and as far as i know, unheard of in california.
