I want to create a "radiant barrier" and tack aluminum sheeting to the bottom of my roof rafters. I have no interest in additional insulation or a floor roll. So far quotes range from $1800 and up for a 2000 sq. ft. home.

  1. Aluminum is a great reflector of heat. That is why they use it as a reflective vapor barrier in insulation and in attics.

So far your quotes range in the $1.00 / sq ft range, product including labor.  (How long would you work in your hot attic, or what would you be willing to pay to NOT have to do that?)
