Does anyone know the Salary for Social Worker in UK?

I am studying social work in Australia, I am planing to go to UK to work as a social worker. I was wondering if anyone know the salary paid in UK for Australian social work degree??

IT really depends on where you go in the Uk and how good you are.. could be anything between £6 - £15 an hour.

At Uni we were told that Amicus recruiting are the best people to go through for jobs in the UK. They would have a pretty good idea of what the wages are like.

I think the wage would be the same as for a UK social worker once you are registered in the UK.

Someone from Amicus told me that because of the price of the pound you are earning double what you would earn in Australia, but the cost of living is also double, so basically you break even. However any money you save whilst in the UK when you converted to Aussie dollars you'd get twice as much.
