I've Heard alot of diffrent stories to the origin of my families name and i know everyone with this name is related but i would like to know if anyone has the true story on our history

Normally.. you can NOT assume that everyone with any last name is related.  You would only find that out by research, and confirming the connections.

Your first step is working with basic genealogy, which is working from the present, backwards, and using documentation to confirm what you find.  In the process, you will be certain of who your direct line is.. and the place of his/her origin.
