  1. Elk Candy in Yorkville closed years ago.  Try the marzipan from Evelyn's Chocolates downtown on John Street between Broadway and Nassau.  The marzipan is phenomenal - worth the trip downtown.  Actually, all their chocolates are good - try the maple marshmallow, too.  Also, compared to other fine chocolates, their prices are very reasonable.


  2. You're probably thinking of Elk Candy, which was located at 1628 2nd Avenue (between 84th St & 85th St). It's closed now. The Heidelberg is still there (at 1648 2nd Ave, between 85th St & 86th St).

    You can get marzipan at Li-lac on Jane St. near  Hudson and 8th St., Leonidas (link below), Veniero's on 11th St near 1st Ave (link below) and Teuscher with two Manhattan locations (link below).
