I am a female and have lost 30 lbs already over the last year or so but I have hit a plateau where my weight is concerned. I am active, excercising 3-5 times a week.

  1. At 290, you can eat moderate amounts of everything and still lose some weight.  The problem is that it never comes off fast enough.  Start weighing your food and keeping a log, you'll end up being surprised at where you can cut back.

  2. 1500

  3. You should be at about 2500 per day spread over six meals. If you are eating less you have probably slowed your metabolism and your body is in starvation mode. A good target calorie range for sustained weight loss is 12 times your bodyweight per day. I recommended the lower calorie amount of 2500 because you are in the dangerously obese category and need to get that weight off quickly. You really should be under a doctor's supervision.

  4. Just eat less then what you do now. and excerise more then what you do now. Theres no way you wont lose weight if you are burning more then you take in.
