Does anyone know the anime show where two girls go into a book?

i was looking for an anime show to watch. On here i found an answer that said about one anime where two girls come across a book that they get sucked inside of. I think the main girl stays inside the book, and her friend gets thrown backout. The book reads what happens to th girl inside or something. Can anyone help me??

Its called Fushigi Yuugi (the mysterious play) and it is AWESOME!  

its really worth watching/ reading.

There are also OAVs and stuff you might want to check out after you're done with the main series. Those aren't as good, but they're pretty interesting.

this is my favourite anime!

its called Fushigi Yuugi also known as Curious Play.

but the japanese name works better for searching.

there are sites where you can go to watch them.

but sadly I cant find any that are english.

I advise you to get the ANIMAX channel..

they repeat it like a hundred times there.

you wont be disappointed at it.. its really good and funny.

but I'm warning you, there are scenes that are.. uhh.. private.

and sometimes its pretty cheesy.

Miaka and yui are best friends who got sucked into the book.

they meet tamahome.. the leader of the suzako group.

tamahome is miaka's love of her life.. blah blah..

but yui belongs to another.. the seiryu group.

they werent supposed to be in the book at the same time because they only needed one maiden..

so in conclusion.. the 2 groups fight.

Unless there's an anime that is way too similar with it, i think you're referring to Fushigi Yuugi aka Curious Play aka Mysterious Game.

The two girls are probably Miaka, the main character and her best friend Yui.

The book is probably  'the book of the four gods' which they found in the library and sucked them inside and delivered them straight to ancient china i believe.

FY has a tv series and has three OVAs. If i remember correctly, (sorry, i last saw about seven years ago) in the tv series, they both stayed in the book but in different and warring kingdoms.

I believe the part where events happening with the girl inside the book was depicted in the OVAs.
