Does anyone know the average lifespan of a 6 cyl motor?

i'm looking at buying a 2002 ford ranger with 131km.

any other info on this type of truck would be helpful in making my decision.

  1. 131 km is equal to about 82 mile which is d**n good. I mean that engine is still braking in. Those ford rangers are good little trucks that are great on gas (for a truck... about 22mpg). The folks I know who have them have not had many problems. Below is a link I found that will greatly help ya out.

  2. I have owned a lot of PU trucks in the last 50 years from a 47 international to a 2003 ford (which is still running). I have never had a Ranger but every ford I have ever owned has given me great service. The 2003 now has 276 thousand miles,(444 KM) starts and runs like new, gives me 26 MPG but has had tender care also. I change the oil every 3,000 miles (49000 KM) and take very good care of all my automobiles.

    Any auto, no matter what the brand or make will give you good service is you take care of it. If you misuse it, it won't last, I promise.
