I was told Norton & Zone Alarm.. However, these programs are memory hoggers from my personal experience. Well with this said, I guess there is no "proper" program out there. We are running a network. I have AVG Internet Security Suite on my computer but I never yet discovered the network component. I don't know if I trust AVG yet. I know that Windows XP can network computers but for some reason, I cannot get it to work. I even had someone else look at it and it wouldn't go for them either. What program(s) do you trust and recommend? Why? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and taken into consideration. Have a nice day!

  1. I installed AVG Free on my home computer several years ago. I spent some time reading there forums and found out that they supply security for several hospitals and large businesses.Since I've never used there paid version I'm not sure what all it does that my free version doesn't.But I've not had any problems that it wouldn't take care of, since I installed it.I do believe that AVG has a pretty good support team that could help out. http://www.grisoft.com/ww.support-techni...

  2. If you are a business and would like to spend some money to protect your network Microsoft offers a good product ISA server.  This would be ran on a single machine that would act as your gateway to the WAN.  If the other pc's are running XP then you just have to allow them access to that server and they will be protected.  This is very granular and it works very well, but you do need to have someone install it that is familiar with it because when it is first installed it locks down the system completely until you set up rules to allow flow thru the server from the LAN to the WAN.
