I have one unit upstairs and one downstairs. I am trying to optimize energy usage and energy costs. Should they be set at the same temp?

  1. 78 is what is recommended according to the TV commercials!

  2. yes...dont use it! Air con dries out your skin, doesnt do your lungs any good and use loads of energy! They are really not good for your health and once you start to rely on them your body will never be able to regulate its own temperature and will therfore struggle to cool you down when you are outside and not near air con. why dont you invest in a few fans, get one of them that attach to your window that sucks the hot air out, open a door, ......wear less clothes?!?!!!!

Do without the air con if you can or at least only put it on if you are desperate!

  3. I keep mine at 80 and use ceiling fans. But if you have two units, you can safely set one warmer if nobody is occupying that area. As steep as electricity is, that's the only way to go.

  4. well if the dew point is 50 or less you should open doors (with screens) and windows. otherwise keep it on maybe 75? it depends but yes try and keep them the same temp. Upstairs and down.
