I just got back from Cuba, and had the time of my life. But I was wondering how I can mail some pictures and cd's to my fav employees at the resort. I figure they're in so many tourist's pictures, but they never get to see them. And they made my stay in Cuba unforgettable! I have the address for the resort, I was just wondering about the customs, and actual mail process etc.

  1. I can't speak for others but I mailed a photo to an employee of Blau Colonial to his home address and he received it.  That was about three years ago. A friend of his emailed me to let me  know it was   received.  You could post a message on the tripadvisor forum for that location and possibly someone wouldn't mind taking it.

  2. DHL is the most secure but costs about 80$ for a small letter. send it through regular mail but be sure not to put more than 3 photos per letter (the envelope has to be seen through under a light otherwise they will rob the letter thinking theres money inside), Cd's wont get there I am sure. Make sure the envelope is not a security envelope but a regular white one. The way it works is employees take the mail home for inspection to see if there is anything of value if they cant see through the envelope they will open it and throw the contents away

  3. If you have the resort address, then you can perhaps send it through DHL. I used to be able to communicate via email everyday with a friend at a resort because she worked in the Public Relations office. She was even able to print out some email messages to the other friends at the resort who couldn't pick up their emails regularly.

If you know someone in the offices, email them and inform them that you will be sending the package.

Or just direct the package to the resort and either in the name of the managers and ask them to give the little packages (addressed to each person you're sending to) to your friends...just have a nice letter or note explaining the wonderful time you had...and explain your situation...and send a box of chocolates as a thank you.

I've also been able to send some packages and pictures with others I knew who went to Cuba as well as mailing.

Richard K has a good suggestion too from experience.

The mail system does work but can fluctuate in timing. DHL is guaranteed to deliver and in good time. Signatures are always required and DHL goes to Cuba no problem.

I know what you mean! Cuba is just amazing and you have made friends for life. Oh here's an idea...why don't you just go back and deliver the pictures and cds in person? LOL ;-)
