Does anyone know the best way to stop wall leaks in the newly built crappy Fla homes? (less than 5 years old)

Just pulled up the lino in the kitchen to lay tile and saw a huge wet spot by the window. I know they'd done a shoddy job of the stucco when the houses were built, but didn't think it was THIS bad! Any help on fixes, cost, etc. would be REALLY appreciated. BTW, this is in the Orlando/Central Florida area. Thanks!

  1. Being in Orlando as well, my house was built in 1986 and I developed pin hole leaks after about 6 years and had the house re-piped with flexible polybutylene. However, the building codes have improved since 1986 and newer homes are using thicker gauge pipe. So your problem may be something else.

I would call a roofer first to determine if the problem originates there (I use Dave Lundberg Building and Roofing, 407-672-0001)

Based on their analysis, they might narrow it down to a specific area of the roof rather than a water pipe and give you a good estimate.

I understand that Fleming Brothers roofing does a good job in the Orlando area as well.
