There is a small sailboat that has been sitting in our bay. It gets tilted on its side during low tide and no one has touched it for years. I think it would be a fun little project to refurb it. How would I go about claiming it?

  1. I think this link has some valuable information that you may need to know if you are thinking about salvaging it.

I would suggest you contact the Coast Guard and they should be able to refer you the correct source of information.

  2. It belongs to some 1> as soon as you try and get it they will be all over you> Go get the ID number & FL # see if the local wild life or sheriff will help you locate the owner>Taking it is stealing>Salvage is for recovery not ownership>Since it not adrift>It propabley has an anchor on it or it would of floated away>
