I have a swing speed of 121 mph and I'm looking for a good ball for my speed. My drives average 310-330. I heard both of these balls have high compression but can't find any numbers for them. If anyone knows where I can find ratings for them, I'd greatly appreciate it!

  1. starting in 2007 golf balls do not go by compression readings anymore.  but to give you an answer, both these balls would be considered 100 "psi".  this is good for your swing speed.  basically, black number = 100 and red number = 90 (for slower swingers and for cold temperatures)

  2. Compression used to be a big selling point for golf balls, it was usually right on the sleeve - but since the manufacturers discovered that most of us hacks can't really compress a 100 compression ball they lowered the compression and are keeping it quite.  I have heard that ProVs are actually about 80 or 85 compression (I am not sure that is true).  But if you can hit it 330 you will like the Nike Platinum a lot more than the the Slazenger.
