  1. We had our 3 year old stallion gelded just a couple months ago.  It cost $180.  I believe that price included his pain medication for after the surgery.

  2. My vet charges around $200.00 that includes the trip fee to my farm.  I live in central Georgia

  3. Depends on your vet I would think.  My vet in CT quoted me for my colt.  About $400-500, not including any meds that he may need afterwards, or the farm call if they come out to do it.  Obviously if I bring him to the clinic then that wont be part of the cost.  However that is only if he is funny dropped.  If only one has dropped then the cost goes up to a minimum of $1500.  She stressed the minimum part. =) Again, that doesnt incluse meds or the farm call.  I would just give your vet a call and ask them for a quote.

  4. you will need to find a recommended vet and give their office a call one of the office people will be able to give you a price range.  it all depends on the fact of both testicles dropped or if 1 is retained in the abdomen.  just call around and don't always go with the cheapest vet, cuz cheaper sometimes means less qualified or poor skills

  5. It usually averages 100-200 depending on where you live. I castrate for $100 as do many of the other vets in many area. The highest I've heard of in my county is any vet charging is $120.

You'll just need to call and ask around for the most reputable equine vet. Ask how much it costs. Also most vets, I know I do, require vaccinations to be given before castration if the horse has not already received them. These will cost you $100, $200 with boosters.

And you horse shouldn't require any special pain medication after castration as another user posted. He will be sedated during the procedure and whether the vet you use chooses to castrate with the horse standing or lying down is all his choice. Most will opt for lying down as some horses will lean if using the standing method.

  6. Hi I've just had my little 3 year old colt gelded and it cost me £175 but that was in a private vetenairy who i always use.

I would guess about £50 more for a fully grown stallion.

  7. Around £140-£200 if vet comes out to do him and also depending if both testicles are down if not it could cost more as i know of a colt that only drop-ed one t******e down and he had to go to a equine hospital to get his testes removed and it cost the owner around £600 to have him done but your stallion should have both down

  8. well arabs tend to be p**s! and stallions are very high headed. so a pissy arab higheaded horse will up the cost. so it shud cost you anywhere from 150$ to 600 dollars

  9. It will be vet specific.  For example I am about 60 mi W of Chicago and my vet at the time charged $150 that was about 8 years ago.    Just call around and ask Equine Vets.

  10. i think its approx 140 pound per horse now days

  11. It depends on his vet bills and the area you live in

  12. Just phone your vet & ask for a quote!Your not obliged to use him,it's your choice at the end of the day,but do make sure it's done by a professional, else you could end up with alot more problems.

Also, because he's 'established' mentally as entire,it may take some time for him to lose some of his stallion behaviour,so don't expect him to act like a docial gelding straight away!Good luck.
